How To Clean Exterior Glass

Addressing Hard Water Stains on Exterior Glass

Hard water stains, often appearing as white, cloudy spots, can be particularly stubborn. Here's how to tackle them:

Identify the Stains: Hard water stains are typically caused by minerals like calcium and magnesium. They might appear as chalky white residue.

Using Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover: This product is especially effective against hard water stains. Apply it directly to the stains, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge.

Prevention: Installing a water softener system can help reduce future hard water stain issues. Alternatively, ensure exterior glass surfaces are dried quickly after getting wet to reduce stain formation.

  1. Mix Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover with water in a clean bucket (50/50 mixture)
  2. Scrub the glass with a clean, damp sponge
  3. Wait 2 minutes
  4. Rinse with cold water
Always read label instructions before use.

Removing Paint, Adhesives, and Residue:

To tackle paint, adhesives, or residue on exterior glass, carefully scrape excess material with a plastic scraper. Apply acetone to a cloth and gently rub the area, testing on a small spot first. Afterward, clean the glass with your solution and rinse.

Addressing Screens and Frames:

For screens, remove and brush off debris. Clean aluminum frames with OUTDOOR FURNITURE CLEANER . For wood frames, use a damp cloth sparingly. Reattach screens and clean with water and mild detergent. This ensures a complete, polished appearance.
