How to clean hard water stains
“I wanted to let you know we tried CLR on our horrible rust/hard water stains in the toilet. We have hard water and for years have been plagued with icky looking rings. With scrubbing, our toilets are now white and no other product has been able to do that. Thanks.”
As Ann discovered, CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover is a great way to clean away calcium and lime deposits as well as scale and rust from your toilet. Here’s how she did it.
How to Remove Hard Water and Rust Stains using CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover
- Put on cleaning gloves
- Turn off the water supply to the toilet
- Flush the water from bowl
- Pour 1 cup of CLR into bowl
- Wait 2 minutes
- Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush or pumice stone for 2 minutes or until the soil is loosened
- Turn the water supply back on
- Flush
Always read label instructions before use.
For rust stains above the water line, you do not have to remove the water. Apply CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover directly to the stains and scrub with the brush or pumice stone. Wait for 2 minutes then flush the toilet. Repeat this process as needed until the hard water stains begin to be removed. If hard water is an issue for you, it’s probably staining more than your toilet.
